Y-AXIS CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY.jpg
  • Position the previously prepared Pro & Lite X-Carriage onto the bearings. The 'legs' which mount the IR Sensor and Print Fan should be on the back and left respectively as you look at your printer.
  • Use the screws shown in the drawing to clamp the bearings. (Thanks' RichRap!). Do not over-tighten them.
  • Assemble the belt-tensioner (7) with it's fixings (5) and (6). Drop it into the X-Carriage. It should look like the image when you are done.

Note: The M3 Grub Screws (8) are used a little later when we install the belt. Do not put them in quite yet, but keep them handy.

Note: The Bearings Clamps are designed to fit in one orientation. Check they align correctly before tightening the screws.

(6.1) X-Carriage Belt

Fit the belt.
Take one end of the GT2 belt.
Bend it approximately into shape and slide it into the carriage around the belt tensioner and push into place firmly.

Insert the Grub.
  • 1 x M4 8mm Grub Screw (8).
Make sure the belt is pushed all the way into the bottom of the slot.
Screw the 8mm grub screw down into the hole.
Once it reaches the bottom, do not continue tightening - this may damage the belt.

X-Axis Belt.

Feed the belt around the bearings in the X-Axis Idler.

X-Axis Belt Threaded onto 20T Pulley

Wind the belt around the X-Motor pulley, then back to the X-Carriage.

X-Axis Belt being cut to length

Pull the belt taught and cut it to length.

Finished Belt.
  • 1 x M4 8mm Grub Screw (8).

Fit and secure the belt with the grub screw.
